چکیده

The main characteristic of an antioxidant is its ability to trap free radicals & also reduce the risk of chronic diseases including cancer, central nervous system injury, arthritis, heart diseases and age related problems etc. recently there has been an upsurge of interest in therapeutically potential of medicinal plants as antioxidants in reducing such as free radical-induced tissue injury. The use of the antioxidant activity of plant extracts in the cosmetic products improves their quality, leads to the cell rejuvenation and skin health. In the present study we have evaluated the antioxidant potential of Methanol extract of two medicinally important orchidaceae plants namely Cymbidium aloifolium and Rhynchostylis retusa were used as explants for antioxidant capacity assays by enzymatic and non enzymatic antioxidant methods.
